The head-to-head duels for position only last seconds at a time, but making the wrong move can be the difference between maintaining a lead or falling back 10 spots–or even out of the race entirely.īeing able to compete against up to 21 other human drivers over the course of a season can be the American equivalent of an online connected franchise in Madden.
The action can be intense and it's a full experience.įor more experienced fans of the series, this could easily be the best new mode added to the game. One of the only aspects of the game fit for criticism is the less-than stellar human renders. The vehicles look amazing, as are the heat ripples behind the cars and the visual representation of sunlight and precipitation. Most racing titles deliver in the way of backgrounds and vehicles. I'd still like to see a racing game attempt to have a commentary booth, but the in-race experience is not as dead as it is in most other racing titles.Ĭars and Environments Look Great, People Just OK I found the chime ins to be timely and relevant. The presence of a chief's voice can be annoying in some racing games, but that's not the case here. Within the career mode, the references to driver and constructer's standings after the race help to keep you engrossed in the grind of a season. It's a phenomenal idea and well executed in F1 2016.
